US President Donald Trump tweeted: "Corrupt Democrat politicians have brought me to highest polling numbers ever with the Impeachment Hoax. Thank you Nancy!"
Donald Trump, emboldened by his acquittal on two impeachment charges, has publicly thanked Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker, who signed the papers to initiate impeachment proceedings against the US President last December.
Donald Trump took to his Twitter page to spruik his public approval rating increasing by 9%.

Pelosi eventually gave in to her party to impeach Trump after publicly stating that the move needed widespread support from the public and support from Republicans, who held the majority in the Senate. She had even said initiating impeachment without the support needed could prove political death for her party in the 2020 elections.
The Democrats never achieved the support they needed with Trump’s Republican party raising US$1 million a day online for 10 days before his acquittal, according to the party’s chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. The Republican-controlled Senate backed Donald Trump with only one dissenter Senator Mitt Romney.
Pelosi tore up Donald Trump’s State of the Union address papers, 24 hours after the impeachment acquittal, in a show of disgust at Trump or a show of anger at what had happened. It was highly likely a mixture of both.
Donald Trump immediately after the acquittal removed impeachment inquiry witnesses Alexander Vindman and Gordon Sondland from their postings and hinted more were to come. He has castigated Romney, the only Republican to vote against him.
He now has the unequivocal support of his fellow Republicans, who are only too aware that Donald Trump represents the party’s only chance of retaining office at the November election.
The Democrats have to lift. The party was in disarray in Iowa, where the vote is still not certain although Senator Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg came out on top. Joe Biden, Donald Trump’s perceived main threat, came fourth and polls have him trailing Sanders and Buttigieg in New Hampshire.
“The campaign doesn’t have to do anything but step back and watch the Democrats demolish themselves,” a Republican party operative close to the Trump campaign told Politico. “This is like a dream scenario.”
“If you had asked me at the beginning of all of this which Democrats would be the weakest to run against from the moderate and the progressive lanes, the answers would have been Buttigieg and Bernie,” the operative added.
