This is the most ‘Instagrammable’ cafe in the world

Speedos, a beachside cafe in Sydney, Australia, which has fed the likes of Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Hugh Jackman and Joe Jonas, has been named the ‘Most Instagrammable Cafe in the World’.

Speedos Cafe, at North Bondi, has beaten top cafes from all over the world for Big 7 Travel‘s top spot, judged on design and creative food.

Speedos is owned by Matthew and Suzy Dan, and Suzy’s sister Annie Karam, who bought it about 15 years ago. Their parents Morris and Georgette Halaby owned it for about 30 years before selling it around 2000. Suzy and Annie bought a few years later.

“You haven’t been able to wipe the smile off our faces since we heard a few days ago,” co-owner Suzy Dan told The Daily Telegraph. “The regulars are as excited as we are, there’s definitely a new buzz in the cafe now.”

“It was very different back in the day when Mum and Dad had it,” Dan said. “The menu was a lot more basic with bacon and eggs and full cream milk coffees the favourites.

“These days where everyone is a lot more concerned with how things look, we have to make the food aesthetically pleasing also. People eat with their eyes first so every dish that goes out has to look pretty.”

Judging from the pictures posted on Speedos Instagram page, the caramelised banana and chia vegan pancake stack is a favourite.
